Driver cited in LaSalle for going over twice the speed limit

LaSalle police say some drivers still aren't getting the message about the danger of stunt driving.

Police reported that a patrol officer stopped a vehicle at around 10 a.m. on Monday on Front Road. The vehicle's radar device recorded a speed of 108 kilometres per hour in a 50 kilometres per hour zone.

A 45-year-old from Windsor was ticketed for stunt driving.

According to the Ontario Highway Traffic Safety Act, individuals cited for stunt driving are subject to a 30-day on-the-spot licence suspension, a 14-day roadside vehicle impoundment regardless of ownership, and fines that can start as low as $2,000.
