UPDATE: Windsor police say suspects identified in attack on cab driver

Windsor police say two people connected to a violent assault early Thursday have been identified.

Officers responded to Wyandotte Street West near Cameron Avenue at around 2 a.m. and learned that the victim was a taxi driver.

Police reported that the driver picked up the suspects at a home on Josephine Avenue near College Avenue. During the ride, the female suspect allegedly climbed into the front passenger seat and bit the driver.

The vehicle was stopped, and the male suspect climbed out, opened the driver's door, and physically assaulted the driver, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The pair made off with the victim's glasses, keys, and $108 in cash.

Investigators reported on Friday afternoon that the suspects were identified.

Anyone with additional information should call the Windsor police's Major Crimes Unit at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4830. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
