Three charged with 126 counts after vehicle vandalism spree

Windsor police say three suspects alleged to have damaged dozens of parked vehicles have been arrested.

Investigators had originally placed the number of damaged vehicles at over 30, but police updated that number to 72 on Monday afternoon.

Police reported that the thefts took place on four different days between September 9 and October 1, in areas across the city.

"Several of the vehicles also had their contents stolen, and a stolen credit card was used to make multiple purchases following one of the incidents," read a tweet from Windsor police.

Surveillance footage of three suspects was soon obtained.

Two 19-year-old men turned themselves in to Windsor police headquarters on Saturday. An 18-year-old man followed suit on Sunday.

A total of 126 charges have been laid, including mischief under $5,000, theft under $5,000, fraud under $5,000, use of a disguise to commit an offence, possession of break-in instruments, possession of property obtained by crime, using a credit card obtained by an offence, and failure to comply with a release order.

The charges have not been proven in court.
