It's still a few weeks away, but already the Town of LaSalle is thinking about Halloween.
The LaSalle Trunk or Treat Halloween event is set for Saturday, October 25, at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex from noon to 4 p.m.
The kids are invited to dress up to explore an exciting lineup of unique vehicles, including emergency and construction trucks, while collecting goodies.
The town has changed the location. Patrons are encouraged to park in lots 3, 4, 6, and 7. Parking lots 1 and 2 will be reserved for those attending programming inside the complex, and the event will be in parking lot 5, between the soccer fields.
The town is still looking for vehicles to participate, and is inviting businesses to enter one.
At the public works display, kids can vote for their favourite name for LaSalle's newest bucket truck, which will be put into service this year. The names were picked by students in grade one, and the winning one will be announced at 3 p.m.
The LaSalle Fire Service will also be on hand accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys for this year's LaSalle Sparky's Toy Drive. Those toys will be distributed to families in need before Christmas.
The fee to enter is $3 per child, and parents and guardians can pay by cash, debit, or credit card. Admission for parents and guardians is free, but families are asked to bring their own bags.
