The storm sewer reconstruction project on Front Road in LaSalle is moving into a new phase on Tuesday.
Starting Tuesday, Front Road will shut down between Kenwood Boulevard and Laurier Drive. The road will reopen at the end of the day on Saturday.
During the closure, westbound traffic on Laurier will only be able to turn right on Front Road, while westbound traffic on Kenwood Boulevard will only be able to turn left.
There will be detours.
Traffic travelling through LaSalle and truck drivers are asked to use Malden Road and Sprucewood Avenue.
Instead of Front Road, local traffic is asked to use Martin Lane, Matchett Road, and Laurier Drive, or International Avenue, Michigan Avenue, and Laurier Drive.
LaSalle Transit Route 25 will be detoured.
Businesses along Front Road will remain open and can be accessed using Devine Street.
The Town of LaSalle began its sewer reconstruction project on Front Road in July between Boismier Avenue and Reaume Road. It will still be down to two lanes, from four, until December.
There will be more lane restrictions early next year, and the entire project should be done by the summer of 2026.
