Update: 4 suspects wanted after carjacking on University Avenue

Windsor police are looking for a group of suspects following a carjacking in the city’s west end.

Officers responded to University Avenue West on Friday night after reports of an armed robbery.

According to police, the victim was walking towards his vehicle when he was confronted by a group of suspects. One produced what appeared to be a gun and pointed it at the victim's chest. The suspect demanded the victim's belongings and fled the scene in the victim's car.

A white 2012 Volkswagen Jetta with the license plate ATEH 285 was stolen.

No injuries have been reported.

On Saturday night, another driver was forcibly removed from his vehicle on Division Road and assaulted. The suspects stole the victim's wallet, identification, bank cards, cell phone, and his 2019 Chevrolet Traverse.

The victim was treated in the hospital for serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

At the scene on Division Road, police found the Volkswagen that had been stolen the night before.

Just after the second carjacking, a group of teens was robbed in the area of Magnolia Avenue and Harrogate Street. The suspects had a gun and a knife, and demanded the victims' cell phones. One victim was knocked to the ground and struck several times.

Early on Sunday morning, police recovered the Chevrolet Traverse stolen on Division Road, after it was involved in a crash in Chatham.

A 15-year-old boy was found inside the vehicle and was arrested for possession of stolen property. He also faces robbery, assault, and theft charges.

Police are still looking for four other suspects.

Police are looking for a white man with a large build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a grey sweater, jeans, white shoes, and glasses.

The second suspect is a white female with a heavy build. She was wearing a red sweater, black pants, a black cross-body bag, a black hat, and khaki-colored boots when the incident took place.

Police describe the third suspect as a white man with a slender build. During the incident, he was wearing a green sweater with the hood up, beige pants, boots, and a blue bandana around his neck.

The fourth suspect is a white man with a large build. He was wearing a black sweater with the hood up and a black hat at the time of the incident.

The Major Crimes Unit has taken control of the investigation, and police are asking anyone with information to contact investigators.
