Drivers now have more incentive to drive safely, after the City of Windsor installed red light cameras at four more intersections.
The new ones are at Provincial Road and Walker Road, Labelle Street and Dominion Boulevard, Wyandotte Street West and Crawford Avenue, and Tecumseh Road East and Pillette Road.
They became operational at 12:01 a.m. on Monday.
"Red light cameras are a proven tool to enhance intersection safety," said Commissioner of Infrastructure Services with the City of Windsor, David Simpson. "They help reduce dangerous driving behaviours and protect pedestrians and motorists."
The installations are the last ones of the year and are part of a broader effort to improve safety for all road users, including pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.
