A big jump in market activity didn't translate into higher housing sales in Windsor-Essex last month.
The number of properties on the market rose 20.48 per cent in October compared to a year ago, as 1,253 properties went up for sale.
So far this year, listings are up 13.42 per cent, creating a bigger inventory for potential buyers from which to choose.
The Windsor Essex County Association of Realtors said there were 2,175 properties up for sale in the region at the time it published its monthly sales report.
Sales in October slipped 2.33 per cent from October 2024. A total of 461 properties changed hands compared to 472 12 months ago.
Sales are down 2.34 per cent so far in 2025.
The average price of a home in Windsor and Essex County also dipped 3.12 per cent in October. It was $566,233, down from $584,467 last October.
Housing prices in the region have fallen 0.6 per cent so far this year.
