Air rifle confiscated following Windsor investigation

Tecumseh Road East at Moy Avenue in Windsor has reopened after police conducted an "active investigation" on Thursday.

Few details were given at first, but police announced the closure of the area shortly before 11 a.m. It was reopened at around 12:30 p.m.

Investigators later announced that officers were called to the location on a weapons report.

An 18-year-old was found and confirmed to be carrying the weapon, which turned out to be a CO2 rifle.

The rifle was seized "in the interest of public safety".

Windsor police would like to thank the public for its patience as the incident was being handled.
