Erie Shores Healthcare in Leamington is launching a new respiratory clinic for children and youth experiencing mild to moderate symptoms, including cough, fever, sore throat, wheezing, and asthma flare-ups.
"As flu season ramps up, parents need fast, family-centred options close to home," said Vice President of Clinical Services, Rashoo Brar. "Our pediatric respiratory clinic offers convenient evening access so kids with non-emergency respiratory symptoms can be assessed by a pediatrician, started on a treatment plan, and connected to follow-up care."
The clinic will be open every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. starting on Thursday, November 13. The clinic will run through to the end of March.
Families can book an appointment online or drop in without an appointment. The hospital is also accepting referrals through the Windsor-Essex Community Health Centre and the emergency department at Erie Shores Healthcare.
If a child is experiencing severe difficulty breathing or other urgent symptoms, parents and guardians are asked to call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
