Windsor Police make 19 arrests in latest safety initiative in Glengarry neighourhood

The latest public safety initiative in Windsor's Glengarry neighbourhood ended with 19 arrests and 36 criminal charges laid.

The charges included robbery, assault, and break-and-enter.

The initiative started last Thursday and wrapped up on Saturday at the apartment buildings between University Avenue East and Wyandotte Street East. The action was held in partnership with the Windsor Essex Community Housing Corporation.

"Beyond addressing criminal activity, we continue to work closely with our health and human services partners to support residents and enhance the overall quality of life in the neighbourhood," said Staff Sergeant Brian Caffarena.

The enforcement actions are part of a sustained, high-visibility program by Windsor Police and local partners that started in the summer of 2024.
