An arrest warrant has been issued for a 47-year-old after several thefts and frauds at area retailers.
Windsor police report the man visited four different big-box stores between November 5 and November 20. While at the stores, the suspect is alleged to have purchased several hundred dollars worth of merchandise using counterfeit bills. Police claim he then returned the items and received authentic bills from the store, then turned around and purchased the same goods with more counterfeit bills.
Investigators identified a suspect. He is wanted for possession of counterfeit currency, uttering counterfeit currency, and fraud under $5,000.
The charges have not been proven in court.
The man is described as Middle Eastern, about 5'5" tall with a slender build and long brown hair and facial hair.
Investigators believe he may be in the Greater Toronto Area.
