City of Windsor opens application period for student summer jobs

If you're an active student, the City of Windsor has an opportunity for you to find summer employment.

The holiday season may barely be underway, but the City has opened the application process for its Summer Student Lottery program.

Eligible students must be at least 17 years old as of May 1, 2026, and willing to work any shift up to 40 hours per week.

"To ensure that hiring is fair and equitable, the selection of students to be considered is based on a secured computer program that randomly draws applications for order of consideration," read a release from the City. "This summer employment program is a City Council-approved initiative, subject to budget approval and in compliance with applicable union collective agreements."

Positions are available in City administration, parks and recreation, and public works.

Applications are accepted online only. The deadline is 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026.
