Impaired driver arrested after SUV flips in Windsor

A crash in East Windsor has led to impaired driving charges against a 26-year-old man.

Just before 5 a.m. on Friday, Windsor police were called to the intersection of Lauzon Road and Wyandotte Street East after a single-vehicle collision was reported.

When officers arrived, they found a white SUV that had struck a utility pole and flipped onto its side. No one was injured in the crash.

While speaking with the driver at the scene, officers noticed the smell of alcohol on his breath and observed other signs of impairment.

The man was taken into custody and transported to Windsor police headquarters, where he later failed a breath test.

The 26-year-old man has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and impaired operation of a conveyance with a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit.
