Windsor police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a suspicious house fire on the city’s east side.
Officers were called to a home on Drouillard Road around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, after reports of a blaze.
When they arrived, they found the back porch and part of the house badly damaged. Police estimate the damage at about $75,000.
The home was vacant at the time, and no one was hurt.
According to the Windsor Police Service, investigators from the Arson Unit reviewed nearby surveillance video and believe two suspects were involved.
The footage shows the pair approaching the back of the house, pouring an accelerant on the porch and exterior wall, then setting the fire before running away on foot.
Police have released descriptions of the suspects.
The first is described as a white male between 18 and 25 years old. He was wearing a black face covering, a black puffer jacket over a white hooded sweater, grey sweatpants with the number “25” on the left leg, and black Nike shoes.
The second suspect is also described as a white male in the same age range, wearing a black face covering, a black hooded puffer jacket, black pants, and black shoes.
Investigators are now asking residents and business owners in the area to check any security cameras or dashcam footage recorded between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. that morning.
