Charges laid after collision involving police cruiser

A Windsor driver is facing numerous charges after driving the wrong way on Highway 3 and crashing into a police cruiser.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) report that the collision happened near County Road 8 around 9:30 p.m. on January 1.

The officer was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 42-year-old was arrested and charged with operation while impaired, dangerous operation causing bodily harm, and failure to stop after an accident.

The driver also had his license suspended, and the vehicle was impounded.
