Teen charged after bear mace attack

A 15-year-old has been charged in connection with a bear mace attack.

Windsor police say they were called to a home on Hall Avenue around 7:30 a.m. on New Year's Day. Officers discovered that a suspect had smashed a front window and sprayed bear mace into the home, causing four occupants to have difficulty breathing.

The suspect took off but was pursued by one of the victims. The victim physically restrained the suspect until police arrived.

The suspect has been charged with assault with a weapon, administering a noxious substance, mischief and failure to comply with a release order.

The victims had non-life-threatening injuries.
