Officers with the Windsor Police Service helped rescue an 11-year-old Husky that fell into the Detroit River Saturday.
The distressed dog-owner called 911 and officers rushed to the scene. They were able to pull the dog, Ace, out of the freezing water.
“I can’t thank the officers enough for their quick response and heroic efforts,” said Ace’s owner. “They saved my dog’s life and I am beyond grateful for their compassion and teamwork.”
The Windsor Police Service is reminding residents to take caution around icy water. They warn to never attempt a rescue on your own.
