Over $300K in damage after garage fire

A garage fire that spread to a nearby home caused an estimated $350,000 in damage to the residence and an additional $20,000 in damage to vehicles and an exposure.

Windsor Fire and Rescue Services (WFRS) responded to the fire on Dominion Boulevard at approximately 9:30 p.m. Saturday. The blaze began in a garage before spreading into the attic of a neighbouring home.

Nine fire department vehicles were dispatched to the scene.

Five people from two homes were displaced as a result of the fire. No injuries were reported.

The investigation has concluded, however, the cause of the fire remains undetermined.

WFRS says Windsor Police Service, Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services, Enbridge Gas and Enwin Utilities assisted at the scene.
