Utilities shut off at Oak Street Fire

Windsor Fire and Rescue Service (WFRS) crews are on scene battling a house fire on Oak Street.

Multiple fire department vehicles and approximately 25 firefighters have been deployed to the incident.

Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy fire conditions, extreme heat and thick smoke on the second floor of the home while attempting to locate the seat of the fire. The blaze has since extended into the attic.

Utilities to the 1.5-storey home have been shut off, and firefighters have applied water as they continue efforts to bring the fire under control.

Emergency Medical Service, Windsor Police Service and Enwin Utilities are also assisting at the scene.

WFRS is asking residents to avoid the area while crews continue operations.
