A family of seven was displaced Sunday when flames erupted at a home on Oak Street in Windsor.
The family is being assisted by the Canadian Red Cross after the fire started in a second floor bedroom.
Officials from Windsor Fire and Rescue Services said the home had no working smoke alarms on the second floor of the home.
Multiple fire department vehicles and approximately 25 firefighters were deployed to the incident.
Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy fire conditions, extreme heat and thick smoke.
Officials listed the cause as electrical and say the fire caused $600,000 in damages.
