Snowy and cold weather this week has led both of Windsor-Essex's English-language school boards to adjust their dates and times for midterm exams.
School bus cancellations caused by snow-covered and slippery roads, as well as frigid temperatures, are prompting adjustments for exams.
At the Greater Essex County District School Board (GECDSB), the updated exam schedule is as follows.
Exam Block B – Wednesday, January 28th [Period 2]
Exam Block C – Thursday, January 29th [Period 3]
Exam Block D – Friday, January 30th [Period 4]
There will be a PA Day for secondary students on Monday, February 2.
At the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board (WECDSB), a similar schedule adjustment is made as follows.
Period two exams will be written on Wednesday, January 28.
Period three exams will be written on Thursday, January 29.
Period four exams will be written on Friday, January 30.
Secondary students with the Catholic board will also have their PA Day switched to Monday, February 2.
Second-semester classes will begin for all students on Tuesday, February 3.
Students or parents with questions or concerns about the new exam schedule should contact their school's principal directly.
