Windsor fire investigators are on the scene of a house fire near the downtown core.
Firefighters responded to the scene on Elliott Street West near Church Street shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday, and noticed heavy smoke coming from the one-and-a-half-storey house.
Multiple crews and Windsor police appeared on location, and the fire was soon brought under control.
Eight people are reportedly looking for a place to stay, and volunteers from the Canadian Red Cross have been available to help.
A fire investigator is on scene.
