Female suspect sought in Windsor bike theft (VIDEO)

Windsor police are hoping someone can help identify a woman connected to a bicycle theft.

Investigators say the theft happened at an apartment building on McDougall Street near Erie Street East. The date of the theft was not specified.

Security camera footage released by police showed a woman approaching a bicycle that was resting against the wall.

The suspect is described as White, approximately 40 to 50 years old, with brown hair and a heavy build. At the time of the offence, she wore a blue winter coat, blue jeans, and black boots.

Anyone who can identify the person should call Windsor police's Target Base Unit at (519) 255-6700, extension 4350. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).

Police have suggested that, with spring approaching and people wanting to use their bicycles more, riders secure them with a lock and register them with Windsor police.
