The Ontario Provincial Police has charged two 19-year-old drivers from Essex and one 26-year-old from Leamington with impaired driving over the weekend.
It started with a traffic complaint about a driver on Tracey Crescent in Essex around 1:12 a.m. on Saturday.
Police pulled over a 19-year-old driver and charged him with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol or drugs and operation of a motor vehicle while over the legal blood alcohol concentration level.
Five minutes later, officers in Leamington conducted a traffic stop on Talbot Street West near Chestnut Street and charged a 26-year-old with impaired driving, being a novice driver with a blood alcohol concentration above zero, and driving without insurance.
Later that evening, officers were called to a single-vehicle crash on County Road 34 in Kingsville.
Police didn't say if there were any injuries, but officers arrested a second 19-year-old from Essex. He now faces impaired driving charges and a count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
All three drivers had their licenses suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded for a period of one week.
Police remind drivers that if they have an urgent traffic complaint or suspect another driver is impaired behind the wheel, they should call 911 immediately. The number to call for non-urgent complaints is 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
