Windsor police say a man is facing a dangerous driving charge following a crash involving a police cruiser.
Officers were in the area of Glengarry Avenue and University Avenue East on a call for service when passersby alerted them that their vehicle had been struck.
The investigation revealed that someone driving a red sedan jumped the curb and almost hit a pedestrian before striking the police cruiser. The driver then took off on Glengarry.
The heavily damaged sedan was later found on Ouellette Avenue near Elliott Street.
Police reviewed surveillance video and identified the driver as a 63-year-old man, who was found nearby and arrested.
