The Windsor Essex County Association of Realtors reports a large drop in housing sales across the region in February.
Sales compared to last February dropped 27.52 per cent. In February 2025, 327 homes changed owners compared to 237 last month.
So far this year, sales are down 12.21 per cent.
By this time last year, realtors had sold 598 properties. So far, this year, the number is 525.
Market activity climbed again last month, by two per cent compared to a year ago. A total of 749 properties were listed on the market in February 2025, while 764 are up for sale now. So far this year, market activity is down slightly, by half a percentage point.
The average price of a home in Windsor and Essex County fell by 3.84 per cent last month, and by 5.52 per cent so far this year. The average price in February was $541,588 compared to $563,237 last February.
