Four county drivers charged with impaired and stunt driving

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers in Essex County were busy once again handling drivers who allegedly violated the law.

On Saturday and Sunday, police arrested four drivers for impaired driving, stunt driving, and other offences.

The first traffic stop took place just after 8 a.m. on Saturday, on County Road 20 in Kingsville.

A 24-year-old woman is charged with stunt driving and driving with a hand-held communication device.

The second incident occurred at around 11 a.m. on Saturday. Officers responded to a complaint on Oak Street West in Leamington.

A 30-year-old Belle River man is charged with impaired driving and driving with an excessive blood-alcohol concentration.

Police then executed a traffic stop shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday on County Road 42 in Lakeshore.

A 56-year-old man from St. Joachim is charged with impaired driving and driving with excessive blood-alcohol.

The final stop was on Sunday at approximately 2:30 a.m. in Lakeshore. Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of County Road 22 and County Road 27.

A 19-year-old Belle River man has been charged with impaired driving and resisting an officer.

The charges have not been proven in court.

All drivers will have the opportunity to respond to the charges in appearances scheduled for later this spring in a Windsor court.
