A 43-year-old man faces charges after paramedics with the Essex Windsor EMS were threatened while trying to respond to a call about a woman in medical distress.
They were called to a home on Sandwich Street West early last Wednesday morning, when a man in the home threatened to shoot the paramedics.
The man was quickly detained by police, and the woman was loaded into an ambulance and taken to the hospital.
Police also seized a Kodiak Defence rifle and ammunition from the home.
The man is charged with uttering threats to cause death, possession of a restricted firearm without a license, possession of a prohibited firearm without lawful authority, possession of a firearm while prohibited, and contravention of the Firearms Act.
The charges haven't been proven in court.
