Windsor bus shelter damaged in a hit-and-run

The Windsor Police Service is looking for a suspect after a City of Windsor bus shelter was damaged in a hit-and-run.

According to police, a white four-door sedan drove into the glass shelter around 6:15 p.m. on March 1 at the corner of University Avenue and Bruce Avenue.

After the crash, the driver and passenger switched seats. The vehicle then took off northbound on Janette Avenue, with neither the driver nor the passenger reporting the incident.

At the time of the incident, the driver, a woman, was wearing a grey sweater, a long dark-coloured skirt, and a dark-coloured hijab. The passenger, a man, was wearing dark clothing.

Investigators are asking residents and motorists in the area to check their video surveillance or dashcam footage for evidence.
