Fire at downtown business causes $1M in damage

Windsor fire officials say damage was extensive to a downtown business that was hit by fire early Monday.

Windsor Fire and Rescue crews were called to the two-unit plaza on Wyandotte Street West near Bruce Avenue at around 1:30 a.m.

No injuries were reported, and the fire was brought under control within 45 minutes.

About $1-million in damage was reported in the first-floor market-restaurant business and the second-floor medical clinic.

The cause was not immediately nailed down, but electrical failure could not be ruled out.
