The City of Windsor is preparing for another busy construction season.
In total, 163.8-million of road work has been scheduled across the city.
"We'll be doing multiple tenders over the balance of the early spring and summer. We want to appropriately phase this work so we're not gridlocking the city. There's an awful lot of choreographing that goes on behind the scenes," said David Simpson, City Engineer.
In a news conference Thursday, the city outlined construction work totalling nearly $3-million planned for Ward 1 will be scheduled between June and September.
All of the 2026 Ward 1 project will consist of milling and paving surface asphalt.
Starting in late June, work will begin on Cousineau Road from Casgrain Drive to Country Club Drive.
Construction on Norfolk between Bruce Avenue and Dandurand Avenue will also commence in June and be competed before school starts in the fall.
Residents will see crews on Santo Drive to Borrelli Drive starting in June with expected completion in July.
Finally, construction on Matchett Road between Titcombe Road to Sprucewood Avenue is expected to start in August to be completed in September. This work is scheduled later in the construction season because of schedule work on Front Road in the Town of LaSalle.
The City of Windsor will outline construction projects planned for each ward in the coming weeks.
