Run for Windsor raises $30,000 for Fanscy Family Hospital

Windsor's Fancsy Family Hospital is the recipient of a $30,000 donation from last October's Run for Windsor.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Elder's Association held the Run for Windsor last fall with a 1 km fun run and a 5 km race. Nearly 250 people participated.

"We are grateful for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elder's Association and the Run for Windsor for their longstanding support and commitment to our community," said Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation Executive Director Cristina Naccarato. "Their partnership is helping to make the new Fancsy Family Hospital possible, and we look forward to continuing this important relationship in the years ahead."

Construction on phase one of the new hospital is anticipated to start this year. The first phase is an education and administrative building.

Windsor Regional Hospital issued a request for qualifications to find developers willing to construct phase two, the diagnostic and treatment block.

Phase three, currently envisioned as a nine-storey tower, will house inpatient beds.
