Man out on extortion and child pornography charges violates bail

A 45-year-old man, already facing extortion, criminal harassment, and distributing child pornography charges, faces new offences for violating the conditions of his bail.

Jason Nassr was released from custody last December. The Ontario Court of Appeal ordered him not to use the internet, including his YouTube channel, to discuss or promote child exploitation.

Police found out in January that he had violated those conditions after an investigation by the Major Crimes Unit.

On Tuesday morning, officers found Nassr on McDougall Avenue and arrested him.

He faces two counts of failure to comply with a release order.
