Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say an 18-year-old Belle River man is facing numerous charges after a traffic stop late Tuesday night.

A patrol officer conducted the stop shortly after 11 p.m. on Amy Croft Drive in Lakeshore.

The driver was soon arrested and charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving, and driving while having alcohol and cannabis readily available.

He was also charged with being a novice driver with a blood-alcohol level above zero, underage possession of cannabis, being a novice driver and refusing to show a licence, and failure to stop for a stop sign.

The driver will have a chance to respond to the charges in a Windsor court on June 10.
