Red light camera tickets jump 15 per cent in Windsor

The number of charges laid for running a red light in Windsor has jumped 15 per cent over last year.

According to a report presented to Windsor City Council earlier this week, there were 5,034 tickets laid in 2024 and 5,800 in 2025.

The report notes that the city added another 10 red light cameras last year, bringing the total to 20 across Windsor. Four cameras went up in August, two in September, and four more in November.

At the same time, revenues from the program fell from $1,138,936 in 2024 to $886,069 last year. The report said revenue was delayed in 2025, and expenses increased.
