Windsor police say a 47-year-old man is facing multiple charges after alleged impaired driving on Thursday morning.
Officers responded around 7 a.m. to Lincoln Road near Ottawa Street in south Walkerville, after calls came in about someone passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle. Police learned that the vehicle was seen slowing down and stopping in the middle of the road.
When officers tried to rouse the driver, they found suspected fentanyl in the driver's lap and a lighter in his hand. The driver regained consciousness and was arrested.
Additional drugs were recovered from the driver when the officers searched the vehicle.
The driver is charged with impaired driving by drug, possession of a Schedule I substance, and driving without a licence.
The charges have not been proven in court.
