Hearing set for Thursday between Unifor and Titan Tool and Die

The longest-running labour dispute in Windsor history will go before a provincial tribunal Thursday.

A hearing involving Unifor and Titan Tool and Die is scheduled before the Ontario Labour Relations Board.

Unifor Local 195 has claimed that the company has engaged in bad-faith bargaining. Local president Emile Nabbout told WindsorNewsToday.ca on April 9 that the company's attitude toward the workers is unacceptable.

"They haven't told us their intentions. They've locked out those workers unreasonably, and we have told them that we are not accepting any type of concession, and if we told them any kind of concession, they need to come up with a different plan," said Nabbout.

Ontario Opposition Leader Marit Stiles was in Windsor on April 9 to meet with the locked-out employees. She had called on Premier Doug Ford to intervene and end the impasse, which has lasted 272 days.

Stiles had also called for anti-scab legislation to be introduced.

The employees were locked out on August 11, 2025, after the company demanded deep concessions.

Titan Tool and Die has not responded to repeated requests from WindsorNewsToday.ca for comment.
