Man accused of making harassing, anti-Semitic messages

The Windsor Police Service says charges have been laid after several anti-Semitic and derogatory messages were left at two local Jewish community organizations.

Police report several messages were left between April 23 and May 5, 2026. They said the messages did not contain direct threats of physical harm but because of the tone, frequency, and content, the calls were clearly targeted.

“The Windsor Police Service takes all reports of hate-motivated incidents seriously,” said Major Crimes Staff Sergeant Ted Novak. “Targeting people or organizations because of their religion or identity causes real harm, not only to those directly affected, but to the wider community. This kind of conduct has no place in our community.”

A 31-year-old was arrested on May 7 and charged with two counts of harassing communications.
