The Municipality of Lakeshore now has more than one official mayoral candidate for the 2026 municipal election.
Local businessman and philanthropist Sam Sinjari has filed his paperwork to run.
His page indicated that he is running for mayor because he is "focused on listening to residents first, then building a platform grounded in accountability, strong leadership, and responsible growth."
Sinjari is running for the position currently held by Tracey Bailey, who officially filed for re-election on Friday morning.
Bailey is seeking her second four-year term. She was first elected in 2022, defeating long-time incumbent Tom Bain.
A third candidate for mayor, resident Argo Pace, submitted his paperwork to run on Thursday afternoon.
As of Friday morning, the other candidates filing in Lakeshore so far are Deputy Mayor Kirk Walstedt, who is looking for another term.
For the Ward 1 seat on council, Ryan Lahoud is running. Ward 6 incumbent Larissa Vogler is also hoping for another four years.
The filing deadline is August 21. The election is October 26.
