Windsor police say a bank employee was instrumental in preventing a potential case of fraud.
Officers were called to a bank branch on Tecumseh Road East near Albert Road at around noon on Monday. They learned from an employee that someone had tried to use stolen identification for a transaction.
The suspect was arrested as he tried to flee. Police learned that he had allegedly tried to use a stolen driver's licence as identification.
Additional credit cards, debit cards, and ID cards were also recovered.
A 34-year-old man is charged with fraud under $5,000, personation, two counts of using identity information to commit fraud, and two counts of possession of ID belonging to someone else.
The man is also charged with two counts of possessing a forged document to commit an offence, two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.
The charges have not been proven in court.
