Two stunt drivers stopped in Windsor over two days

Windsor police were busy once again dealing with a pair of stunt drivers in as many days.

Officers from the Traffic Enforcement Unit stopped the first driver at around 7 p.m. on Monday, when a 39-year-old man was stopped for going 174 kilometres per hour on the E-C Row Expressway at Matchett Road. The speed limit on the expressway is 100 kilometres per hour.

The driver's licence was suspended for 30 days, and his vehicle was impounded for 14 days.

The second driver was stopped at around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. A 42-year-old man was clocked going 95 kilometres per hour in a 50-zone on Wyandotte Street East at Central.

The driver was ticketed for stunt driving and driving while under suspension. He also received a summons for allowing an unlicensed person to drive and allowing the vehicle to be operated with no insurance.

The vehicle was also impounded for 14 days.

Additional penalties may be laid on the drivers once their cases go to court.
