One Windsor couple is celebrating a $1-million windfall after winning the top prize in the LOTTO 6-49 Gold Ball Draw, while a retired couple from Leamington won $238,533.50 playing LOTTARIO.
Both couples won in the April 11 draw.
Nancy L. of Windsor was in shock when she realized she had won.
"I asked Benoit to verify what I was seeing, and he replied, 'You won $1,000!' When I told him to count the zeros, he asked, 'Is this real? Are you playing a prank on me?"
She was not.
The couple said the win comes at a good time, and their top priority is to support their sons. They also plan to buy a new home and car.
They bought their ticket at the Real Canadian Superstore on Dougall Avenue in Windsor.

Michael C. of Leamington bought his ticket on the OLG app and won $238,533.
The retiree said he's been playing the lottery for 35 years, and started buying his tickets online about five years ago.
The 65-year-old said he realized he'd won the morning of his birthday.
"I was on my laptop and opened an email from OLG saying I was a winner," he said. "It prompted me to sign into my OLG.ca account to see what I won. When I did, I found out I had matched all six numbers! I looked it over a few times to make sure I was reading it correctly."
At first, his wife thought he had won $238, and she was happy about that, but when she took a second look, "she was pleasantly surprised."
Michael plans to use his winnings to enjoy life to the fullest.
