$4.8M in road work announced for Windsor Wards 5, 6, and 7

Road projects for 2026 have been announced for another chunk of the city of Windsor.

Mayor Drew Dilkens joined Ward 5 Councillor Ed Sleiman, Ward 6's Jo-Anne Gignac, and Ward 7's Angelo Marignani on Tuesday morning to announce a slate of road work to take place this season.

The $4.8-million allocated is part of the $36.6-million total for projects across the city in 2026.

"Over the last two months, we’ve announced an investment of over $36-million to rehabilitate, reconstruct, or replace key roads that provide vital links between where residents live, work, and play," said Dilkens in a media release. "Investing Responsibly is about empowering progress, strategically bolstering and streamlining services, building a stronger city to protect our future, ensuring that Windsor remains one of the most affordable communities in Ontario, and making sure real progress is happening across the entire city."

Ward 5's share is $1.72-million, with three projects scheduled. Two of them will include asphalt milling and paving. The third, on Vimy Avenue between Cadillac Street and Meighen Road, will be a complete road reconstruction with work beginning in the fall.

In Ward 6, work will include road reconstruction in two areas, with one on the Carling Crescent cul-de-sac to Cedarview Street, which will also include a new water main installation. The roadwork in that ward will cost $2.24-million.

Finally, road work in Ward 7 will involve asphalt milling and paving on Cora Greenwood Drive between Castle Hill Road and Little River Boulevard, and a reconstruction of Mulberry Court at Mulberry Road. Those projects will cost about $790,000.

You can find a complete list and status report of all 2026 road projects on the City of Windsor's official website.
