Windsor Police investigate after fatal crash involving a pedestrian

Windsor Police are looking for witnesses after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Tuesday night on Howard Avenue.

Officers were called to Howard Avenue between Edinborough Street and Grand Marais Road East around 11 p.m., where they found a man on the road receiving medical treatment from paramedics and firefighters.

Police say the 58-year-old man was crossing Howard Avenue outside of a crosswalk when a southbound vehicle struck him. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene.

He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Howard Avenue was closed for several hours while officers investigated. It reopened early Wednesday morning.
