Carrousel of Nations receives provincial grants

The Experience Ontario program is supporting the 2026 Carrousel of Nations Festival with a $20,000 grant.

The festival hosted by the Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County highlights many of the different cultures of people living in the community.

Windsor-Tecumseh MPP Andrew Dowie said the program aims to support events that create tourism opportunities.

"There's not a single event like it throughout Ontario and maybe not even throughout the country yet we have the Carrousel, put on by the MCC that brings people in to celebrate culture, celebrate food, celebrate dance, and give every one of us a window into how the different cultures that make up our community live," said Dowie.

The MCC will also receive $30,000 from the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund to support the festival.

"These investments help increase our marketing efforts, celebrate the rich cultural diversity that defines our region, support cultural groups, and create unforgettable experiences for residents and visitors alike. Carrousel continues to bring people together through culture, food, music, and shared experiences, and we are grateful to the Province of Ontario for recognizing the festival’s impact on tourism, community connection, and economic growth,” said MCC Executive Director Fred Francis.

The festival is being held on the weekends of June 12 and June 19 throughout Windsor and Essex County.
