The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has been notified after a Windsor police officer shot a man Friday evening,
Officers responded to a situation on Rose-Ville Garden Drive near Thornberry Crescent at around 6:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found a suspect armed with a knife. During the interaction, the suspect was shot by police.
The suspect was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
As is the protocol with an injury involving police, the SIU has been contacted, and Windsor police will not provide additional information.
As of 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Rose-Ville Garden Drive remained closed between Charlie Brooks Drive and Thornberry Crescent. People are asked to stay away from the area.
