Windsor-Detroit Tunnel to remain open during Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix

The CEO of Windsor-Detroit Borderlink wants to remind motorists that the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel is open during the setup for this weekend's Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix and during the race itself.

Traffic will be rerouted on the Detroit side of the tunnel. Motorists will have to turn right on Jefferson Avenue to access I-375.

Tal Czudner said drivers should be prepared for delays when crossing because of an anticipated increase in traffic.

The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix starts on Friday and wraps up on Sunday afternoon. Once again, the race will return to the streets of downtown Detroit.

The track is 1.7 miles (2.7 km) long and includes nine turns.

The Riverwalk will be open along the Detroit side of the Detroit River, so visitors can explore, take part in interactive games, food, live music, and other attractions at Hart Plaza, Jefferson Avenue, and on Woodwood Avenue leading to Campus Martius Park and Cadillac Square.

Last year's race drew 156,000 fans, up four per cent from the previous two years.

Smell pot in your neighbourhood? About that
