Two arrested, $128K seized in Windsor raid

Windsor police say two suspects have been charged and six figures worth of suspected drugs and cash are off the streets.

Members of the Drugs and Guns Enforcement (DIGS) Unit began an investigation last month into suspected drug trafficking.

On Wednesday, police found and arrested the suspect in a parking lot on Bloomfield Road near Chippawa Street. Police also seized a cell phone.

Officers then conducted a raid on a nearby home and found a woman inside trying to destroy evidence.

Over $121,980 in Canadian currency was confiscated, along with 70.2 grams of crack cocaine, and $14,800 in counterfeit U.S. cash. Other items recovered included two digital scales, 38 rounds of ammunition, two magazines, packaging material, a mixing agent, and a money counter.

A 45-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman are both charged with possession with intent to sell, possession of criminal proceeds, and possession of counterfeit money.

The man is also charged with one count of possession of a prohibited device and two counts of possession of ammunition while prohibited.

The woman is also charged with obstruction of justice.

The charges have yet to be proven in court.
