The calendar doesn't officially say summer just yet, but summerlike heat is heading our way.
Environment Canada has issued a yellow heat warning for Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent, and Sarnia-Lambton, starting Wednesday and lasting at least through Thursday.
The weather agency says daytime highs for both days could surpass the 30 C mark, with overnight lows hovering above 20 C, providing little relief.
Humidex readings could vary between 36 C and 40 C.
"The heat event may continue Friday into Saturday, although confidence is low at this stage," read the warning from Environment Canada. "Areas near Lake Huron and Lake Erie will likely be cooler."
For those of you who must work outdoors, drinking plenty of water-based fluids and using sunscreen are essential. For those without air conditioning at home, visit a cooling centre, community centre, library, or shaded park.
Environment Canada suggests scheduling outdoor work or activities during cooler parts of the day if possible. And never leave people or pets in a parked vehicle on hot days.
